Case Study:
This multi-layer anti-reflection coating was designed for use as a protective cover lens on an Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs) detector. The uncoated B270 glass has an uncoated maximum transmission of 92% causing significant signal loss for the Indium Gallium Arsenide detector across its sensitivity range of 900 – 2570 nm. For this application the customer did not require an AR coating to cover the whole width of the InGaSa detectors sensitivity range only 900 – 1700 nm. The general rule is that the narrower the required transmission range is the lower we can get the reflection level. With this anti-reflection coating we were able to achieve greater than 98.0% average transmission between 900 – 1700 nm significantly reducing signal loses. Indium Gallium Arsenide detectors are widely used across the photonics industry in many applications particularly physical sciences in this region.
This process is a standard anti reflection process that is very popular and can be adapted and coated onto any substrate with any refractive index, please contact us to discuss the specifics of your requirement.
