Case Study:
Multi-Wavelength V-Coats can also be a great option instead of a broadband anti-reflection coating as we are able to design a unique coating that maximises transmission at specified wavelengths. In this instance the wavelengths were 405, 490, 600 and 860 nm. We were able to achieve greater than 99% transmission at these specified wavelength ranges A standard broadband AR coating would have been around 98.5% so a minimum of 0.5% additional transmission which when multiplied across multiple lenses in a system can quickly accumulate to substantial losses.
If you have an application where this may be an option please contact us and we can discuss which coating would best suit your application whether it is a broadband AR or a multi V-Coat. Generally the fewer the number of specified wavelengths the higher the achievable transmission is and the more specified wavelengths there are the more the process lends itself to a broadband AR.
