Case Study: High Transmission Wide Band Pass Filter Supplied in High Volume.
Customer Challenge: This customer wanted a wide bandpass filter with an average passband transmission greater than 90%. This was also a high-volume application with over 300,000 filters being required per annum.
Vortex’s Solution: We were able to design and manufacture the filter to have a transmission well exceeding the 90% level between 3050 and 3600 nm whilst also having steep transitions on the long and short pass filters to get the dense blocking required out of the transmission band.
Also due to the high volume of 25,000 parts per month we had to take out measures to ensure that our customers assembly line was not impacted by Vortex.

One part of this is our flexible call off schedule. To keep our prices the most competitive we often coat in large batches and produce a large amount of stock available for call off when required often shipped out the same day.

Another part was the supply of the filters on the UV cured tape that they are diced on, this was configured for the customers pick and place allowing our filters to seamlessly fit into their assembly process.
The Result: We have been able to supply the filters well above the customers technical requirements as well as collaborating well with the production team to make the assembly of our filters into their system as easy as possible.
